Hi! My name is Meghan Curtin and I am a junior Songwriting student at Belmont University in Nashville, TN. I grew up in a small town in Massachusetts and have been writing music since eight years old, when I discovered that my poetry could be set to music. Some of my earliest memories involve listening to folk music and alternative “dad” rock on my iPod, which has shaped my sound and lyricsm today. My influences currently include indie folk/rock artists Julien Baker, Phoebe Bridgers, the Lumineers, and Bon Iver, while grunge bands like the Smashing Pumpkins and Nirvana have also impacted my songwriting. I enjoy poetic language and metaphors, especially when lyrics can be left up to interpretation. My passion for songwriting stems from my love of storytelling, and I hope that listeners are able to connect emotionally with my music.
